Parmigiani Fleurier is a distinguished Swiss brand that has been renowned for creating luxury timepieces since 1996. Founder Michel Parmigiani envisioned timepieces that take aesthetic cues from the worlds of science, art, and architecture. To this day, their creations embody this vision. At J Farren-Price, we are very proud to be Australia's sole official retailer of this luxury watch brand.

THE HISTORY OF PARMIGIANI FLEURIER

Parmigiani Fleurier is a brand that draws its expertise from the art of restoration. Michel Parmigiani opened Mesure et Art du Temps in 1976, his watchmaking and restoration workshop, in 1976, during the throes of the quartz crisis. Swimming against the tide of inexpensive, battery driven watches that threatened the very existence of traditional mechanical timekeeping at the time, he found success by restoring valuable antique pieces for collectors and museums and also designing unique pieces, in his own inimitable style, on demand for clients.

By 1980, Michel’s growing reputation for excellence as a restorer of some of history’s most essential timepieces was leading him to the next step in his career. The catalyst for the foundation of Parmigiani Fleurier was a decisive encounter with the Landolt family, owners of the Maurice-Yves Sandoz Collection, one of the largest collections of pocket watches and automatons in Switzerland. Tasked with restoring these horological milestones, Michel also made the connection that would provide the support to pursue his own creative dreams.

With the support of the Sandoz Family Foundation, Michel Parmigiani launched his own watchmaking maison, Parmigiani Fleurier, in 1996. Still guided by its founder’s vision, taking aesthetic cues from the worlds of science, art, and architecture, the brand today encompasses an entire family of Swiss ateliers, each of which brings the highest level of its own specialised area of savoir-faire — from hairsprings, to dials, to cases — which collectively ensure control of the entire production process and that each component of each Parmigiani watch is produced in-house at the highest quality.

With over 20 years of experience in shaping the watchmaking industry, Guido Terreni joined Parmigiani Fleurier in 2021 to continue to build upon Michel Parmigiani’s brand and legacy.

THE TONDA PF COLLECTION

We are pleased to introduce a range of timepieces from Parmigiani Fleurier's latest TONDA PF collection. Launched on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Maison in 2021, the TONDA PF is a collection offering details, motifs and shapes of great finesse. This new refined wristwatch, whose shape has been designed to satisfy purists in search of a delicate high-end timepiece, pushes back the limits of craftsmanship and complication.

Everywhere the eye lands on a TONDA PF, there’s a particular texture, form, detail to be seen and enjoyed. This is not ornament, ostentation or opulence. This is a mature, sartorial approach to watchmaking, where cloth is replaced by metal and weaving by dial pattern.

The cutting and fitting of the shoulders and waistline take on the form of case and bracelet. Like in a Neapolitan or Sicilian workshop, these are entirely focused on silhouette, fluidity, proportions and taste. Like any jacket that originates in those institutions of male elegance, the TONDA PF is tailored to withstand the passing of time and trends, and remain.
